Joint session for Landscape Design and Ornamentals tracks.
The landscape at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is realizing a new direction ‐ a renaissance. A significant redesign of the Danforth Center’s landscape through reconstruction of a native Missouri tall grass prairie, includes over 50 native forbs and grasses to promote an enhanced ecosystem for both honey bees and native pollinators that will assist pollination of thousands of acres surrounding the Center. The six‐acre prairie will showcase the vital connections between native landscapes, biodiversity and agriculture. Laurel Harrington, Director of Landscape Architecture at Christner, will describe the process, design and decisions that were undertaken to reinvent the Danforth landscape.
